How we work
Accredited Qualifications?
For students aged 14 and over, the team are able to enter learners for a range of accredited qualifications that helps to build both the confidence and the CVs of learners in a bid to expand their horizons and ambitions.
Areas of study include;
Maths and English
Hair & Beauty
Personal Development
RSHE
In addition, the team can tutor in core GCSE subjects (Maths, English & Science) where the learner is due to be entered for examinations by their on-roll school.
1:1 or Group Setting?
We do both, or a blend of the two. Some learners need a 1:1 dynamic to help them regain trust and optimism in their abilities. In those cases, they still get the positive reinforcement of having sessions where they can still have opportunities to mix and interact with others.
The team also deliver group sessions for learners who find their learning experience is enhanced by working alongside others and sharing the challenges of academic work with supportive peers.
Ages?
Sportfit Education works with students from Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6) through to Post-16. Each age group has its own unique set of needs.
SEN Interventions?
The team is able to access standardised testing materials for reading, spelling and numeracy alongside dyslexia screeners. They are able to implement structured intervention programmes upon these results to work towards measurable gains in progress.
Beyond the academic, emotional literacy and social development interventions might be the missing piece in helping a young person kickstart their journey back towards educational successes.
Eating Disorders?
The team have experience in helping learners who have struggled with eating disorders. This includes having structured lunch or snack times where food intake can be recorded and shared with parents/carers to help monitoring the road to recovery.
Trips & Visits?
For many students, a fresh start in education means building positive relationships with staff and peers to kick start their confidence in facing academic challenges. The team try hard to build a schedule of trips and visits upon the interests of learners to support ambition and self esteem.
